Turkey shares Khashoggi recordings with Saudi, US and others

Recordings of the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi has been given to the US, Germany, France, Britain, and Saudi Arabia, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday.

Turkish sources previously said that authorities have an audio recording purportedly documenting the murder.

Speaking ahead of his departure for France to attend commemorations to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, Erdogan said Saudi Arabia knows the killer of Jamal Khashoggi is among a group of 15 people who arrived in Turkey one day ahead of the October 2 killing.

The Saudi journalist's body has never been found, more than one month after his death. Last week, one Turkish official suggested that the body may have been dissolved in acid. Saudi Arabia admitted the 59-year-old had been murdered in a "rogue" operation after repeated denials, saying Khashoggi left the consulate unharmed.

Meanwhile, the US has ended its refueling of aircraft from the Saudi-led coalition battling Houthi insurgents in Yemen. Saudi Arabia said the decision was made in consultation with the US. Riyadh is under scrutiny for civilian deaths in Yemen air strikes and is facing global furor and potential sanctions over the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
