As Zhou's maiden work, "The Fall" depicts a middle-class man who goes through a midlife crises in the city. His health is deteriorating, his own company is going through challenges and his son is studying overseas, leaving him alone.

Zhou, a business man outside the film industry, wrote the film script out of observation from his own life. He also played the hero.

The Warsaw International Film Festival has been held since 1985 and was officially listed as a global A-class international film festival in 2009. This year's edition opened on October 12.
