Saxicolous Pleione (Pleione saxicola) is a terrestrial epiphyte species. As a lithophyte, the Saxicolous Pleione grows on cliffs near water at an elevation between 2,400 and 2,500 meters.
It is usually found in the the northwestern regions of Yunnan Province in southwest China. Unlike other members of the Pleione genus, which bloom in summer, the Saxicolous Pleione's florescence takes place in autumn, which makes it a rebellious member of the Pleione family.
