Chinese sprinter Xie Zhenye withdraws from 2018 Asian Games due to an ankle injury. 
In a new post published via his Wechat Account on Thursday, Xie said the decision to be absent from Asian Games in Jakarta owing to the dissatisfaction of his ankle re-examination and would return to Beijing on Saturday. 
Xie's injury originated from the men's 4X100m relay competition at the Diamond League London Station on July 22 this year. Xie Zhenye, the third, encountered an accident when giving the baton to the last sprinter Xu Zhouzheng. 
Based on Xie's recent diagnosis report, currently, he has a triangular ligament injury to the right ankle with some torn part and a small amount of joint effusion.

Xie, now 25, broke the national record with 9 seconds 97 in the men's 100m race in Montreuil, France this year, and refreshed the record of the yellow's 100 meters (later broken by his compatriot Su Bingtian). 
In the Asian Games 2018, he would have participated in the men's 100m, 200m and 4X100m relays.
