Chinese scientists have analyzed climate changes with Himalayan ice cores. The study was led by Kang Shichang, a research fellow with the State Key Laboratory of Cryospheric Sciences which is part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He said this work will better help them understand the ecological environment of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, where the ecological system is vulnerable and sensitive.
