Some 225 million passenger flights were made use electronic e-boarding passes in 2018, according to statistics from the country's civil aviation authorities.
In 2018, 229 Chinese airports provided the mobile devices-based flight information query service, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
By the end of 2018, there were about 40 Chinese airports that supported digital boarding passes.
In addition, 32 airports with annual passenger throughput at the 10-million level were able to provide comprehensive digital services to passengers from checking-in to boarding.

China's civil aviation authorities will push forward e-boarding as well as the integration of the civil aviation sector with new technologies such as facial recognition, luggage check-in, and intelligent inquiry services, said the CAAC in its 2019 development goals.
It has made efforts to promote digitalization in the industry and inject new technologies such as the self-service baggage check-in and whole-process tracking.
China's civil aviation industry handled 610 million passenger trips in 2018, representing an 11.4-percent year-on-year increase, said statistics from the CAAC.
