At least eight people were killed after an explosion struck near a gathering of Afghan clerics in Kabul calling for peace, according to Reuters.

A suicide bomber exploded a device as clerics were leaving the gathering, the news agency cited security officials as saying.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
