A robot cheetah that jumps and runs across rough terrain, climbs over debris, and maintains balance when being pushed around, despite having to rely on "blind locomotion," has been developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The robot is designed to navigate obstacles despite containing no on-board cameras or external environmental sensors. The plan is for the robot to venture where humans can’t – like deep inside power plants for inspections
