Formerly known as "Canton," Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, is China's third-largest city and home to some 14 million people – more than the entire population of Greece. It's also one of China's main economic powerhouses.

From its illustrious past as the headquarters of the Maritime Silk Road to its internationally-recognized cuisine, Guangdong has always shined on the world stage. However, look beyond the city's skyscrapers and success stories, and you'll find the Cantonese are a pragmatic lot who, despite being deeply-rooted in tradition, actively embrace change. This is the secret to their success.
