Legless eight-year-old Maya Merhi has received a pair of prosthetic limbs in Istanbul, Turkey. Maya’s plight was brought to world attention by pictures showing her walking on tin cans around a Syrian refugee camp which led to her being taken to Istanbul for treatment. Turkey is the largest host country of registered refugees with over 3.5 million Syrian refugees.
