Broadway stars singing rousingly outside the White House as news that US President Donald Trump's Hollywood Walk of Fame star would be removed, is an example of the strong discontent among the entertainment industry for the president and his "disturbing actions."
Rosie O’Donnell and cast members from some of Broadway’s biggest musicals led a sing-along protest against President Trump outside the White House.
O’Donnell spoke to protesters, some clutching signs with the word “Treason” spelled out, before the group broke into a rendition of “America the Beautiful” on Monday night.

The actress told the crowd it was important to make sure their voices were heard so that Trump would know that they were not going away.
The group also sang a rousing version of “A Brand New Day” from “The Wiz.”
The trip was organized by Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley, the host and producer of Sirius XM’s “On Broadway.”

The performers included current and former Broadway cast members from “Wicked,” "Hamilton,” "Phantom of the Opera” and other shows.
On the same day, the West Hollywood City Council unanimously approved a resolution seeking to remove President Donald Trump’s star from the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The resolution urges the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and Los Angeles to remove the star because of what it says is Trump’s “disturbing treatment of women and other actions.”

Chamber president Leron Gubler tells the Los Angeles Times the chamber has never removed a star because it’s considered part of the walk’s “historic fabric.”
Monday’s vote came after a man accused of taking a pickax to the star last month was charged with a felony count of vandalism.
It was the second time that the star was totally destroyed.
Trump's star that recognized him for his work on the TV reality show “The Apprentice” had been damaged several times since the beginning of his presidential run, and it was badly vandalized days before the November 2016 election.
