China has "Four Confidences" (confidence in the path, theory, system and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics), the United States should also has its own "Four Confidences", Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang hit back at a U.S. academic report at a regular press conference on Friday.
The report was jointly published by the U.S. think tank Hoover Institution and the Center on US-China Relations at the Asia Society on Thursday, calling to be vigilant about China's influence in the U.S..
"We hope that the U.S., as the world's leading country, will open its arms to welcome businesses, media, think tanks and students from all over the world, including China, to the United States," Geng said,
He added that the communication will promote mutual understanding and beneficial cooperation between the U.S. and other countries.
People are living in an era of globalization and a community of shared future has already been forged, the spokesman said.
"Any behavior with a zero-sum game mentality to obstruct normal exchanges and cooperation between the peoples is doomed to failure," he stressed.
