Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Friday congratulated Imran Khan, the new Prime Minister of Pakistan, and said he would like to work with him in jointly carrying forward the countries' traditional bilateral friendship, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields and make unremitting efforts to build the China-Pakistan community of shared future.
"I appreciate your positive remarks towards firmly developing China-Pakistan relations. I look forward to establishing good working relations and a personal friendship with you," Li said in a message of congratulations sent to Khan.
Li said that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners. Their bilateral relationship has withstood the test of time and changes in the international landscape, and has always been healthy and stable.
In recent years, the two countries have enjoyed deeper mutual political trust, have conducted effective cooperation under the framework of Belt and Road Initiative, and seen remarkable outcomes from the construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. All these achievements have brought tangible benefits to both countries and the two peoples, he said.
