China in the future will embrace the world with a more open attitude and contribute to the world with more vigorous civilization achievements, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday.
Xi made the remarks during a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations in Beijing on Wednesday.
Chinese culture is a vital component of Asia, and has been developing with the principles of inheriting tradition, innovation and inclusiveness, Xi noted.
He added that China has always embraced the philosophy of befriending its neighbors and being at peace with all foreign nations, maintaining the value of benefiting its people, upholding the mentality of innovation, keeping pace with the times, and following nature's course and living in harmony with it.
The conference was initiated by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference in 2015.
It is aimed at providing a platform upon which to enhance interactions among the youth, local communities and the media and to form a network of cooperation among think tanks, so as to add to the rich cultural lives of Asia and contribute to greater vibrant regional cooperation and development.
