China is willing to align the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) with Greek logistics and transport hub development strategy.
Chinese President Xi Jinping made the remarks on Friday when meeting with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, who is in China for the second Belt and Road Forum (BRF) for International Cooperation scheduled for April 25-27.
China welcomes Greece becoming a full participant in the cooperation mechanism between China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC), Xi said, adding that the cooperation between the two sides is a model for China-Europe cooperation.
Xi said that he hopes that Greece will make contributions to promoting China-Europe relations.
Tsipras said that Greece will further develop strategic relations with China, taking advantage of the BRI and the China-CEEC mechanism.
There is mutual respect between the two countries representing ancient civilizations, he said, noting that Greece believes that China will not conquer the world with power, but contribute to human society with wisdom.
