The Austrian town of Lustenau claimed it had broken the world record for the largest bonfire, beating current world record holders Norway. Lustenau's local bonfire group said it took three months to build the 60-metre-high structure, which burned down and collapsed in less than half an hour. But the attempt angered environmentalists said the fire released a "huge amount" of harmful particles into the air and "in times of climate change this is simply the wrong signal."
