Scientists from the B612 Foundation, a US-based non-profit group, made a stark warning about rogue space rocks, saying that millions of asteroids are going undetected and could wipe out mankind at any moment.
Members of the B612 Foundation are former astronauts, mission planners, scientists, who fight to save the world from catastrophic events and protect Earth from the apocalypse.
In 2005, NASA found out that 90% of the observed asteroids with diameters over 140m would pose no immediate threats on Earth. But of the millions of asteroids estimated to be “near-Earth”, only around 18,000 are tracked, with the rest of them not even located, according to News.com.au.

Although we could deflect the incoming asteroids by using cutting-edge instruments like the operational telescope to pick up the asteroids, it’s still a very small number. "The telescopes' field of view is very small and the sky is very big.” Danica Remy, president of the B612 Foundation said.
"It's 100 percent certain we'll be hit, but we're not 100 percent certain when. Asteroids don't care where they hit. It could be Australia, Japan, or Columbus, Ohio. It's really a global issue,” she said.
Lasers and nuclear weapons could probably be used to destroy an asteroid, but they won't be useful if we don’t spot them first.
