Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Monday that China is firmly committed to its opening-up policy, noting that peace and development are the main themes of this era.
Xi made the remarks in his keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
In the face of the instabilities and uncertainties of global economic growth, China is committed to the path of opening-up and win-win cooperation, he stressed.
Beijing will resolutely safeguard an open world economy and a multilateral trade system, and resolutely oppose protectionism and unilateralism, the Chinese president said.
China is willing to make joint efforts with other countries to build a community with a shared future for mankind, promote the Belt and Road Initiative, and actively participate in global governance, he said, adding that the country is committed to the principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration in global governance.
