Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday sent congratulatory messages to the opening of the Belt and Road Energy Ministerial Conference and International Forum on Energy Transitions, which was held in Suzhou City, east China's Jiangsu Province.
The Belt and Road Initiative has been widely recognized and actively participated by the international community since it was proposed five years ago, said President Xi, adding that it has yielded fruitful results.
We are willing to continue to work together with all parties and promote deeper cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and to better benefit people of all countries, Xi noted.
Energy cooperation is a key area for building the Belt and Road, and we are willing to strengthen cooperation in the field within the Belt and Road framework, jointly promote global energy sustainable development and maintain global energy security, stressed the president.
Xi said he hopes the participants of the meetings can have deep exchanges on major issues such as deepening international cooperation in energy and promoting global energy reform, so as to promote the establishment of Belt and Road energy partnership and make contributions to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
