China's ice hockey development will see a huge boost as the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has brought consecutively exhilarating news to the country during the federation's annual congress in Copenhagen, Denmark.
At the first session of the congress on May 17, the IAAF authorized express passes to China national ice hockey teams, allowing the nation's male and female players to have direct entries into the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022.

One day later at the ongoing congress deciding host cities at different championship divisions, China was unanimously agreed to host the 2019 IIHF World Women's Championship Division I, Group B, after the withdrawal of Poland during the bidding process. 
Specifically, the match will take place in Beijing from April 6-12 and the participating countries include the Republic of Korea, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Poland and the Netherlands. Other IIHF matches that Chinese players will take part in during the coming year are: the U18 Women's World Championship Division I, Group B in Dumfries, Great Britain from January 6-12, the U20 World Championship Division III in Reykjavik, Iceland from January 14 - 20, the U18 World Championship Division II, Group B in Belgrade, Serbia from March 25 – 31, and the World Championship Division II, Group A also in Belgrade from April 8-14.
Beijing, as the host city, is recognized for its capability and experience in organizing the championship ahead of the 2022 Winter Olympics. For example, the ongoing China National Ice Hockey Tournament, which runs from May 7-20 in Beijing, contains 28 teams and 840 players who are competing at three divisions.
