Authorities in the Philippines recovered more than 1,500 smuggled live turtles left inside unclaimed luggage and wrapped in duct tapes at Manila's international airport. Customs officials said a total of 1,529 turtles were found inside four pieces of luggage in the airport's arrivals area, which belonged to a Filipino passenger on a flight from Hong Kong. Star Tortoise, Redfoot Tortoise, Sulcata Tortoise and Red-eared Slider were among the species found.
