American and Japanese senior officials held the latest “2+2” security talks in Washington. The two countries' defense and diplomatic chiefs agreed to strengthen their partnership and work together more in areas ranging from space to cyberspace and the electromagnetic spectrum. They also discussed the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said he's still in charge of nuclear talks with the DPRK, despite demands by Pyongyang to step aside.
