After guiding Manchester City to the Premier League pinnacle with record 100-points, manager Pep Guardiola has signed the dotted line for a new deal that will extend his stay at the helm of the league champions until 2021.
The Citizens, who scored 106 goals in the recently ended season and won 32 games, also won the League Cup with a 3-0 win over Arsenal earlier in the season.
Although City’s dream of winning their elusive UEFA Champions League crown was shattered after they were knocked out by Liverpool in the quarterfinals, 47-year-old Guardiola has been entrusted with the new contract thanks to his side’s invincible performance in England. City finished at the top 19 points ahead of the second-placed Manchester United and the only tournament they failed to win on the home soil was the FA Cup after suffering a defeat at the hands of Wigan Athletic in the fifth round.

The Spaniard said, “I am so happy and excited. It's a pleasure to work here.”
“I will focus on the desire of my players to become a better team and every day that's what I will try to do – to improve on the pitch and improve our players.”
Guardiola, who played for Spain in the World Cup, had earlier coached Barcelona and Bayern Munich since starting his managerial career in 2008.
