Dr. Anton Lustig, an ethnolinguist, has been living in China for 27 years. He first came to China in 1991 for conducting research on the Zaiwa language – an endangered minority language. Then he and his wife moved to Xishan County to settle down and launched the Prop Roots Education Center to provide a better education to local children while integrating the core value of Jingpo culture. During his decades of stay in the villages, Dr. Lustig witnessed significant changes in China's reform and opening-up.
