With just days to go until the start of the 2017 National Games of China, the final preparations are being put in place before the curtain is raised. The highly anticipated opening ceremony will be held on Sunday which promises to be a breathtaking display of 3D technology in the host city Tianjin.
The opening, which will take place at the Tianjin Olympic Stadium, held its last joint rehearsal last night. The ceremony will be divided into three parts and run for 100 minutes with performances featuring different themes including the idea of pursuing dreams through long voyages. The pyrotechnics will be enhanced by a hefty dose of sound and light to help bring out the full effect of the 3D. As a cost cutting measure, no fireworks will be used and the 6000 performers are giving up their time for free as volunteers.
