Chou Tien-chen won the men's singles final at the Singapore Badminton Open

The 28-year-old Chinese Taipei badminton player Chou Tien-chen defeated compatriot Hsu Jen-hao in Sunday’s final of 2018 Singapore Badminton Open to win the men's singles champion.

Chou ended Hsu’s challenge 21-13, 21-13 to capture the men’s singles championship, pocketing 26,625 US dollars in prize money.
It was the second major title for Chou this year after he beat Ng Ka Long of Hong Kong, China in the final of the German Open in March, another Badminton World Federation (BWF) Super Series event.
Chou is Chinese Taipei’s top male badminton player and No. 7 in the federation’s world rankings, while Hsu is No. 41.
Chou won a hard-fought semi-final against Qiao Bin of China 21-12, 18-21, 21-16 on Saturday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Also beating compatriots, Malaysia's Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Jemie Lai defeated Olympic champions Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying in the mixed double's final. Japan’s Ayako Sakuramoto and Yukiko Takahata defeated Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida to win the women’s doubles final.

Another Japanese player Sayaka Takahashi beat China's Gao Fangjie, claiming the title of the women's singles group with 2-0. And for the men’s doubles group, Indonesia's Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan beat Chinese Ou Xuanyi and Ren Xiangyu in the finals.
