China's 2008 Olympic Basketball Team look back at a decade of success

It's been 10 years since Beijing held the 2008 Summer Olympics, an event the country's basketball team remembers fondly as it saw them reach the quarter-finals, their best appearance at the games to date.

The Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) held a forum to review that successful campaign on Monday. Both the men's and the women's teams gathered in Beijing for the meeting which was led by the CBA president Yao Ming, who was part of the 2008 team.

"As always, I am happy to see the jersey being passed on to the next generation, who will continue fighting for China," Yao said. “At the same time, I miss those days which have already gone, but we need to look forward."

Coach Jonas Kaz-lauskas was invited to share his memories of the Olympics in the Chinese capital with both squads, who hope to learn from the 2008 sides and fulfill their potential at next year's basketball world cup in China.
