10 detained after mine accident kills 22 in N China

The death toll in a major mine accident in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has risen to 22 after a second injured person died in hospital on Monday, according to a CCTV reporter. 
Ten people have been detained by local police, with one making bail, local officials told media.

A total of 21 people were killed and 29 others injured after a vehicle lost control due to faulty brakes Saturday at a mining company in northern China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, local authorities confirmed Sunday morning.
Out of 29 injured, 23 are in critical condition, according to a local CCTV reporter. 
Local authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.

The death toll rose from 20 to 21 after an injured person died in hospital at around 3:00 a.m. BJT on Sunday.

Twenty people were killed and 30 injured in a vehicle accident of a mining company in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Saturday, according to local authorities.

The bus taking 50 workers underground experienced brake failure and lost control, crashing into the side of the tunnel which caused the deadly incident, according to the regional emergency management department.
The accident took place at Yinman Mining Company in West Ujimqin Banner, Xilingol League.

Among the victims, 15 died at the site, one person died on the way to the hospital and four others died in the hospital.
The accident occurred at around 8:20 a.m. local time when a vehicle transporting workers to the coal mine lost control due to brake failure.
The injured are all in stable condition.
Local authorities have initiated the emergency response system and dispatched work teams to the site.
An investigation is underway.
