Pandas receive their Chinese New Year gifts

Pandas living in southwest China's Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding received special gifts for the upcoming Spring Festival, or Chinese New Year, on Wednesday.
Panda keepers prepared various kinds of fruits and vegetables for the animals, including apples, carrots and lemons.

Giant panda Miao Miao's house was decorated with colorful fruits, including her favorite apples and bamboo, along with lemons, carrots and oranges – items she only receives on special occasions.
This year's Spring Festival falls on Feb. 5.
