The death toll from Cyclone Idai and recent flooding in Mozambique could rise to 1,000, President Filipe Nyusi said on state broadcaster Radio Mocambique on Monday.
The heavy rains and flooding caused by Cyclone Idai hit Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe, leaving hundreds of people dead and many more missing.
