China Media Group (CMG) and Argentina's Grupo America on Thursday jointly held the launch ceremony of "Clásicos citados por Xi," the Spanish version of "Xi Jinping's Classical Quotes" video series.
The program introduces words of wisdom and famous stories quoted in President Xi Jinping's speeches. The series also features articles under six topics, such as the cultivation of individual personalities and the construction of an honest administration, which show Xi's deep understanding of traditional Chinese culture and his thoughts on state governance.
The series originally aired in Mandarin in October on the science and education channel of China Central Television (CCTV).
The work has been translated into English, Japanese and Korean, and was well received by audiences worldwide.
President of CMG Shen Haixiong noted during the event that the launch of the Spanish version of "Xi Jinping's Classical Quotes" opens an intuitive window for Spanish-speaking audiences to appreciate the charm of President Xi. It also strengthens the cultural exchanges between Chinese and Argentine people so as to understand how President Xi has successfully brought China, the world's largest developing country, into a new era, and realized the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Jose Luis Manzano, founder of Grupo America, said "Xi Jinping's Classical Quotes" is an excellent opportunity to learn about Chinese culture. The video series introduces the influence of traditional Chinese thought on today's human society and Chinese society, and shows that China's long history of ideology and culture is still of guiding significance to modern society, he noted.
At the launch ceremony, China Global Television Network (CGTN), which is owned by CMG, and Argentina's Integra Industrias Culturales also signed a cooperation agreement and strategic cooperation memorandum to jointly produce a documentary entitled "Crossing," or "Kua Yue" in Mandarin.
Under the agreement, the two sides will launch new programs during the G20 summit in Argentina, which will introduce Chinese culture, charm, and wisdom to audiences in Argentina and Latin America.
In the afternoon, channel 24, an affiliate of Grupo America, began broadcasting "Xi Jinping's Classical Quotes."
CMG and Argentina Radio and Television also held a promotional activity for the work on Wednesday.
