China is “prepared” and ready to use “all necessary measures” to counter the extra US tariff which Washington said would start on Friday, spokesman of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lu Kang said at Tuesday’s briefing.
“The Chinese government is obligated to uphold our own legitimate rights and interests, including the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese industry and consumers,” Lu said.
The Trump administration on July 6 will start imposing tariffs on Chinese imports worth 34 billion US dollars, taxing 818 Chinese products.
