Xi calls for building of China-Cambodia community of shared future

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni in Beijing on Tuesday.

Xi called on the two countries to implement an action plan for building a community with a shared future for China and Cambodia, and work together to push forward the development of the China-Cambodia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

The Chinese side supports Cambodia in following a development path in line with its national conditions, he noted.

For his part, Sihamoni expressed gratitude to China for the long-term firm support and valuable assistance, as well as the friendly feelings toward Cambodia, especially its royal family.

He said the Cambodian side stands ready to jointly promote the Belt and Road Initiative with China and will stand with the Chinese people under all conditions.

Sihamoni also noted that the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations (CDAC) will play an important role in promoting cultural exchanges among countries.
