By Li Ying

Smart societies, big data, digital ecology and health, these may sound like distant dreams but they are quickly making their way into our everyday lives.

An ideal place to catch a glimpse of these future realities is the second Digital China Summit, which will be held next month in Fuzhou City, southeast China's Fujian Province.

The summit, themed "New Dynamics, New Development, New Achievements Empowered by Informatization", will be organized in seven parts, including the opening and closing ceremonies, main forums, sub-forums, Digital China Exhibition, report releases, and an innovation contest, China's State Council Information Office announced at a press conference in Beijing on Tuesday.

The preparations for the event, which will run from May 6 to 8, are currently underway.
