After becoming the first Chinese fashion designer invited to the Paris Haute Couture in 2008, Ma Ke disappeared from the public for quite a while. Since 2006, Ma, the founder of WUYONG, has done field trips to remote mountainous areas to research traditional Chinese folk crafts, managing to collect several endangered handicrafts in the process.
