Argentina legend Diego Maradona has grabbed worldwide attention thanks to his animated presence in the stadiums during his country’s World Cup matches, as well as his no-holds-barred opinions on the program, “By the Hand of the Ten.”
In the latest episode, he assessed Brazilian player Neymar and reacted to a trending video of the superstar falling and rolling on the ground during the round of 16 match against Mexico.
The Brazilian was at the center of attention because of his simulation during the game in which his nation secured a place in the quarter-finals, but he did seem to have been legitimately targeted by Mexican players throughout.
“Neymar must be told that 'either you make us cry or you make us laugh,” Maradona said on the program. “When the Mexican stepped on him I wanted to cry but seeing him run with the ball later I wanted to laugh.”
Maradona admitted that he enjoyed the game. “I enjoyed it because I think I saw a very strong Brazil side that is on their way to the title,” he said. “I like [Brazil's coach] Tite a lot and he has them very well trained, Mexico could not have asked for anything else.”
