Starting up to create wealth

From famine to an economic powerhouse, from savings accounts to wealth management, China has become an economic powerhouse in only four decades since its reform and opening-up began. And the personal assets of 1.4 billion people are expected to trigger the next round of growth and may change the world.
CGTN's crew went to Shenzhen, China's first Special Economic Zone (SEZ) to see how the liberation of minds decades ago has transformed what was once a fishing village into a global center of innovation. It’s still a place for young people to startup in pursuit of wealth. And those pushing the boundaries may get a better chance to succeed.

A new concept of wealth management

Moving all the capital are the new types of businesses and new technologies like AI and big data. There’s been drastic rise in venture capital projects, and a growing number of middle class people keep changing the way they are managing their wealth. Chinese people used to put their money into financial products, but a growing number now invest in the real economy. They believe that when the real economy meets finance, the combination may bring a more profitable return.
Most startups dream of becoming future industry leaders. This passion for success has driven the economy to grow. Some even say wealth can be a legacy for more meaningful values. The stories behind the wealth will push further changes for China's economy in the next round of reform and opening-up. And the changing concept of people towards wealth will continue to influence the new generations to come.
