The Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge is the world’s highest and is located in central China’s Hunan Province. The bridge measures 430 meters in length, 6 meters in width and 300 meters in height, and boasts the world’s highest bungee jumping point.
On May 26, 2018, bungee jumping enthusiasts revealed as the company Go! Bungy China hosted a freestyle bungee jump event to mark the first leap from the world’s highest commercial bungee. It attracted daredevil jumpers from all over the world, including the US, the UK, Australia and Russia.

Just before the jumpers were about to descend upon the platform, the sky became black and rain burst from the clouds. However, it didn't weaken the daredevils' spirits or passion, in fact quite the opposite as Russian jumper Vladimir Sereda compared it to “like flying through heaven, so smooth and nice."
I was fortunate enough to be invited, and although I was encouraged to do the jump, the minimum weight requirement was 66 kilograms, and I was way under. Callum Lewis, a 25-year-old jumper who has been bungee jumping for more than three years, told me that they have four different cords—yellow, blue, red and black, and each color represents a weight range. The team is working on the yellow cord, which requires a minimum weight of 45 kilograms so I might be able to do it one day.

I was curious about the age limit for this kind of activity, but the 43-year-old CEO of Go! Bungy, Beau Retallick, said anyone can do it as long as they are enthusiastic. For him, it’s a lifelong pursuit that he thinks he could continue forever.
Although there isn't a specific date for when the facility will be open to the public, the organizers have assured me it will be very soon. I guess I had better start preparing for my own jump...
