The standing stock of the Qinghai Lake naked carp, a kind of endangered carp, is mainly found in northwest China. It has reached the highest level since local authorities took multiple measures to protect the fish, including fishing ban and fish species rescue since 1982. Besides, the local government set up a rescue center for the Qinghai Lake naked carp. By 2017, a total of 127.85 million of fish fries of the species have been put into the lake.
