Car rams into US Embassy’s gate in ROK

A man crashed his car into the gate of the US Embassy in South Korea on Thursday, Sputnik reported.

The driver, a 48-year-old man, was arrested at the scene in Seoul. He cried “help me, help me,” as he left the car, said eyewitnesses.

"I wanted to leave the country and go to the United States," he said to the police.

Some reports say that the man may have been a DPRK defector.

At least one person was injured in the collision, Yonhap News reported.

There are no indications so far that the incident is related to terrorism.
