December 13 is China's National Memorial Day for the victims of the Nanjing Massacre. From December 13, 1937, to January of 1938, some 300,000 Chinese civilians and unarmed soldiers were massacred after the city fell into the hands of the Japanese invaders. Many survivors have passed away, never getting an apology from Japan, and the rest are still waiting. 1984 statistics show the number of registration, 1,756 survivors. The number dropped to less than 100 by 2017. So far in 2018, 20 more have passed away.
