President Xi departs for APEC meeting, state visits to PNG, Brunei, Philippines

Chinese President Xi Jinping left Beijing on Thursday for Papua New Guinea (PNG), where he will pay a state visit and attend the 26th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting this weekend.
It will be the first time for a Chinese head of state to visit PNG.
Xi will deliver a keynote speech at the APEC CEO summit, address the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting and meet leaders of other APEC economies in the country's capital city of Port Moresby.
Xi will also meet with eight leaders from the Pacific Island countries that have diplomatic ties with China.
After his agenda in PNG, the Chinese president will make his first state visits to Brunei and the Philippines from November 18 to 21.
