China is heavily investing in startups as part of a push to diversify its economy. Numerous startup ventures have come into being by merging industries such as artificial intelligence, financial technology and lifestyle services, among many others.

Amid the fervor of entrepreneurship sweeping across China, Han Di, a former Internet product manager, decided to start his own business. He saw opportunities in Chinese consumers' changing interests.

"Most people start buying clothes that represent their personality and lifestyle. If I like wearing easy and comfortable clothes, simple products would meet my needs."

Han founded Liangpinjia, a brand emphasizing comfort, simplicity and versatility. He opened the first store in October 2017. Thanks to the well-developed purchase and supply chain of China's clothing industry, the mark-ups of products were greatly reduced and Liangpinjia's customers could get a better price.

With his experience in the Internet industry, Han introduced digital technologies to his business operation. The digitization of product and sales information and big data of actual consumption helped set new standards for products.

"With the help of data, we can optimize our products to meet most consumers' needs while increasing production efficiency," Han said.

By October 2018, seven branches had been opened in five cities across China. Lianpinjia also launched an online shop on multi-purpose super app WeChat. Han thinks that the online shopping platform can attract more customers in the digital era.
