Turkish police on Tuesday detained 54 people in Istanbul over their alleged links to the ISIL, local media reported.
According to the state-run Anadolu Agency, anti-terror teams launched simultaneous operations in 13 districts of the city to capture the suspects, who were believed to have been planning terror attacks.
CNN Turk said the suspects were allegedly preparing to go to conflict zones in Syria, noting many documents and digital materials were seized during the raids.
Turkey has been cracking down hard on ISIL militants, as the country has been hit by a series of suicide attacks carried out by the group since 2015.
