The recent cold spell in central China has frozen part of Hukou – Chinese for "mouth of a teapot" – Waterfall with icicles, attracting tourists with the breathtaking scenery.

Located at the intersection of north China's Shanxi Province and northwest China's Shaanxi Province, Hukou Waterfall is the only yellow waterfall in the world and the second largest waterfall in China after Huangguoshu in Guizhou Province.

The powerful Yellow River surges its way from Qinghai Province and, when the riverbed suddenly narrows from 300 to 50 meters, turning the placid water to rapids, the water splashes on the rock, forming a magnificent waterfall 15 meters high and 20 meters wide, making it seem as if the water is pouring from a huge teapot, hence its name.
