Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid spoke highly of China's equal treatment to every country, regardless of size. The country's first female president hopes to advance cooperation with China in areas including trade, e-commerce and delivering services.
Kaljulaid made the remarks when meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday. This is the Estonian President's first visit to China, and she is attending the Summer Davos Forum, which takes place in north China's Tianjin Municipality from September 18 to 20.
President Xi said China has long been pushing for mutual respect between countries. The law of the jungle – big fish eat little fish – should be abandoned.
"That is why China has promoted building a community with a shared future for mankind," Xi said.
The Eastern European country has a superior geographical location, along with a unique ecological environment, green agriculture and digital economy, Xi added.
China is willing to carry out more practical cooperation with Estonia, especially in people-to-people exchanges, to bring tangible benefits to the two sides.
