China will continue to promote its reform and opening up drive, and improve the investment environment for foreign companies, Premier Li Keqiang said in a speech at the World Economic Forum in Tianjin on Wednesday.
Li pointed out that after 40 years of reform and opening up, China owns the world's second foreign investment scale and China's market has become a global market.
He stressed that China promises to allow local enterprises and foreign enterprises to have a fair competition in the Chinese market.
The premier noted that as long as Chinese or foreign enterprises are registered in China, in terms of tax and fee reduction or fair supervision, they will all be treated equally.
Li vowed that this promise will not be empty talk. He told enterprises if they have any problem, they are welcome to complain to the Chinese central government or local government.
Any act that does not accept complaints will be resolutely corrected and any act that does not carry out legal and reasonable corrections after receiving complaints will be punished, he added.
China's economy is growing and expanding in the process of opening, Li said, adding that China has recently broadened the financial sector and service sector's market access and further reduced tariffs on imported goods.
He emphasized that lowering the total tariff level and clearing up unreasonable charges on imports reflect China's own choice to open up, China's willingness to promote domestic industrial transformation and domestic consumption, and China's practical action on advancing globalization.
