Jawbone fossil from China sheds light on mysterious ancient kin

A team of international researchers reported on Wednesday in the journal "Nature" that a human jawbone found in a cave on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau belonged to a mysterious ancient species called Denisovans. The research team is led by the scientists from the Institute of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lanzhou University and Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science.
