China Fashion Week opens in Beijing highlighting young designers

China Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2019-2020 opened in Beijing on Monday, highlighting the works of young designers.
A total of 25 young designers from home and abroad, including Spain and Norway, competed for the Hempel Award at the 27th China International Young Fashion Designers Contest, which took place on the show's opening day.

With the theme of "Wild Life", the contest wowed audiences with its vitality and timely theme of animal protection.
The gold award went to Zhao Rui, a student from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, who took images of rhinos and folded paper for his "Magic Forest".
"I used the images of rhinos and folded the paper in my design, and I want, in this way, to raise the awareness of animal and environment protection, and remind more people to rethink our relationship with animals and nature," said Zhao.
The Silver Award was shared by Spanish designer Maria Molina and Chinese designer Li Yi.
And Chinese designers Zhang Keqi and Zhang Shuxiao walked home with the Bronze Awards.

Besides catwalks and professional contests, Fashion Week will hold nearly 100 events under the theme of "Blooming," including fashion forums, press releases, business matching and creative performances.
Also scheduled are DHUB trade show, a link for design and business, City Fashion Engine, a star plan for fashion city, the 8th 10+3 SHOWROOM, a young designer incubation plan, the China Fashion Association Joint Show from Haute Couture Committee featuring masterpieces from 10 symbolic designers, and Fairytale Town fashion for children.

First launched in 1997, China Fashion Week has been held in March and October annually. This season will last till March 31.
