Investigation underway into 2 killed after falling off slide in SW China

Two people were killed and 12 were injured on Wednesday after falling off a giant slide at a park in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province, according to local authorities on Thursday.
The accident occurred at about 5 p.m. BJT at an outdoor park in Chengdu.
Two adults died after being taken to the hospital. Those who were injured, including six adults and six minors, are receiving medical treatment.
The park has been ordered to halt operations. Meanwhile, the person in charge of the park has been detained.
According to local authorities, the park had been ordered to halt its operations before, but it continued to operate without authorization when the accident happened.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
